The Friends
The Friends works hard to support the New York State Military Museum and military heritage of our area. This work is done completely through the work of volunteers. Below you will see some of the faces that make up The Friends of the New York State Military Museum. The mission of Friends is to be a support to the museum, to aid in fund raising for exhibits and displays, as well as assisting in drawing attention to the museum through programs, lectures and events. As the board of trustees, we are the elected board which helps direct the membership to facilitate the support mission of the non profit group. Upon arriving at the Military Museum, a guest first meets one of our docents. These guides are ready to acquaint you with the museum, serve as educators, and answer questions. If you are in need of assistance, look for one of our enthusiastic and knowledgeable docents.
Retail Associates
While you are at the museum, make sure you stop by our gift shop. Browse through our bookstore, or take home a piece of military history. Our retail associates will help you choose the perfect gift.
I Want to Volunteer!
We’re always looking for volunteers to join The Friends! Whether you are a docent, working in the gift shop, helping out at a fundraiser, or volunteering in any other capacity, we encourage you to contact us here or give us a call at (518) 226-0490. Thank you for your support!
